Please note: Contractors will be not permitted to bring construction materials. Bins are available for rent (at their own cost) through Loraas Disposal. There is a $500 fine for anyone caught dumping garbage in the municipality.
Loraas has decided to extend its organic waste/compost pickups throughout the winter. For those that have the program please let us know at the office if you would like to continue with the organic program. Note: Homeowners will be responsible to ensure that the material is not frozen to the bin and can be dumped easily. Anybody choosing not to sign up for the winter program please store your bin safely until May when it can be put out for pickup again. Thank you.
A Remembrance Day Email the town received to allow for a virtual Remembrance of our veterans this year
This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on all of our daily lives. It has also changed the way we deliver the Department of National Defence’s National Veterans’ Week Speakers Program.
In order to keep Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) speakers and audience members safe, we developed a video series to meet the demand for speakers, while respecting public health guidelines.
As we approach Veterans’ Week (Nov 5-11), the National Veterans’ Week Speakers Program (NVWSP) is proud to unveil its CAF speaker’s video series. These videos pay tribute to all veterans, past and present, who have served their country. They are geared toward various audiences and age levels, which can be viewed in lieu of an in-person presentation.
The CAF speaker videos will also be available for sharing on our social media channels, including Facebook (Canadian Armed Forces)
and Twitter [@CanadianForces].
We would also like to offer you some additional video resources that could be used in your Remembrance Day ceremony:
We hope you enjoy the CAF speaker videos we developed and check out our partners’ sites to help you prepare for your own Veterans’ Week / Remembrance Day activities.
If you have any questions, please contact our national coordinator at 1-833-223-8322 or via email at: DNDRemembrance.SouvenirMDN@forces.gc.ca.
